Rocha Flooring Inc. helps you choose the perfect carpet material that suits your needs. Here are some of the materials we have:
Nylon is a very durable fibre with excellent performance. Its strengths include good resiliency, good yarn memory to hold twist, good carpet cleaning efficacy, and good stain resistance with stain treatment applied, good soil hiding ability, and good abrasion resistance. It is the strongest fibre, making it an excellent choice for the heavy traffic areas. It's also the most durable of the synthetics. This type of fibre has a very soft texture.
Polypropylene, also called olefin, is the fastest growing fibre for carpet today. It is and in-expensive fibre which makes the total job more cost effective. It has great stain resistance, with the exception of oil-based stains. It is a solution-dyed product, which means colour is added during manufacturing in its molten form rather than topically applied. Because of this, it has superior resistance to bleaches and sunlight fading. Due to the lower cost of the fibre it has poor resiliency, which can lead to crushing. This type of fibre has a lot rougher texture as well, compared to Nylon.
This fibre has many colours available and is extremely fade resistant and provides excellent resistance to stains. The downside to this fibre is that it has low resiliency. If looking at this style of carpet avoid high piles with low density. You will usually find that it is manufactured with a heavy face weight and high density construction to give it that luxurious feel.
This is the most expensive type of carpet fibre on the market. It will be the softest carpet that you will ever walk on. It is the most durable carpet fibre but it is not resilient to stains. You will notice that this type of carpet “sheds”. It is not the most practical carpet fibre for pets.
